Phantom Blade Zero launches to over 800,000 concurrent players on Steam alone

After almost a decade in development, S-GAME’s long-awaited Phantom Blade Zero has finally arrived. Already a success critically, the action-focused RPG has proven to be a commercial juggernaut – having officially landed on Steam with a concurrent player count of over 800K in total.

Officially released this past Thursday, S-GAME’s Phantom Blade Zero is off to an excellent start so far, with the PC / PS5 exclusive arriving to an aggregate review score of 89%. Said critic scores, alongside a substantial amount of pre-launch excitement, appears to have led to an explosive launch for the game, with Phantom Blade Zero peaking at over 800,000 concurrent players on Steam alone (hitting 833K on Sunday).

This puts Phantom Blade Zero as one of the most-played games of all time on the platform, with its peak CCU landing at no. 14 on Steam’s all-time list – nestled in between Battlefield 6 (747K) and Baldur’s Gate 3 (875K).

While we of course do not have any public data for how the game is performing on PS5, Phantom Blade Zero is currently sitting at an average score of 4.71 stars across its 15,000+ reviews on the platform (compared to Steam’s 78,000 ratings).

Prior to the title’s release, the team at S-GAME revealed that Phantom Blade Zero had amassed more than 3 million wishlists. While we have yet to learn just how many copies have been sold since its launch on the 29th of October, it is safe to say that with over 800K concurrent players on Steam alone, Phantom Blade Zero is already easily a 1 million+ seller.
