Corsair introduces new Commander Duo to simplify lighting and fan management

Corsair has launched a new fan and lighting controller designed to solve a growing problem for builders within its ecosystem. The new Commander Duo is a hybrid controller that allows users to manage and synchronise both traditional 4-pin PWM ARGB fans and the proprietary iCue Link devices through a single interface.

The Commander Duo is a multi-function hub that features two standard PWM ARGB channels, each capable of controlling up to six fans for a total of twelve. Alongside these, it includes two iCUE Link ports. The magic happens when the Duo is ‘docked' to a central iCUE Link system hub, allowing the entire system, including the standard ARGB fans connected to the Duo, to be controlled seamlessly within the iCUE software.

This is a fantastic solution for users transitioning to the iCUE Link ecosystem who don't want to replace all their existing hardware. For example, suppose you have a case full of Corsair's popular SP or LL series ARGB fans, but you want to install a new iCUE Link AIO cooler. In that case, the Commander Duo will allow you to control everything in unison without needing multiple controllers or dealing with software conflicts.

To sweeten the deal, the controller also comes with two external temperature sensors. These can be placed anywhere in your case, allowing you to create intelligent and responsive fan curves in iCUE based on case temperatures, rather than relying solely on CPU or GPU thermals. The unit itself is magnetic for easy placement on any steel surface inside a chassis. The Commander Duo is now available for £29.99/$39.99/€39.99.
