Nvidia had a ton of GeForce-related announcements in store for Gamescom 2025. We've covered all of the major upgrades coming to the GeForce Now cloud gaming platform, but Nvidia also has announcements for new games supporting RTX features like DLSS, and the debut of an entirely new feature – RTX Hair.
Nvidia has been working on improving in-game hair for decades. A decade ago, games like Tomb Raider and The Witcher 3 prominently used HairWorks. Now, Nvidia has taken things up to a new level with RTX HAIR. This new feature enables Path Tracing for strand-based hair and fittingly, it will first debut in one of the best showcases for Path Tracing technology currently on the market – Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Nvidia has also confirmed that DLSS 4 is now supported in over 175 games and apps. DLSS 4 is the latest version of the technology, bringing Multi-Frame Generation into the fold to multiply frame rates by up to 4x. While Multi-Frame Generation is exclusive to RTX 50 series GPUs, the visual benefits of the latest DLSS models are accessible to all RTX GPU users. Additionally, those with RTX 40 series GPUs can still make use of standard Frame Generation.
New games launching with DLSS 4 this year include the likes of Directive 8020, Resident Evil Requiem, The Outer Worlds 2, Pragmata, Borderlands 4, Dying Light: The Beast, Phantom Blade Zero, Black State, Lost Soul Aside and Cronos: The New Dawn.
RTX Remix, Nvidia's new modding toolkit for enhancing classic games with Ray Traced lighting, now supports over 165 games. In a recent modding contest, Nvidia awarded developers behind recreations of COD 2, Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, I-Ninja and Painkiller with prizes. In the future, modders will get even more use out of RTX Remix thanks to the addition of a new Particle system, so you can insert new particle effects into classic games for more visual uplift. Through RTX Remix, users can change all properties of the particles, from size and quantity to light properties, turbulence and gravity.
NVIDIA ACE projects also continue to evolve. AI Agents are now in the simulation hit IN-ZOI and The Oversight Bureau by Iconic Interactive has voice-driven simulations enhanced by NVIDIA ACE AI. In other AI-related news, Nvidia's Project G-Assist is getting a major update to make it use 40% less memory, and through the integration of mod.io, users can now easily find and install various plugins to enhance their own personal version of G-Assist.
Finally, the Nvidia App is getting some highly requested updates. The new Nvidia App aims to combine the best of the classic ‘Control Panel', and the GeForce Experience application. That includes bringing over all of the global toggles from the classic control panel.
Most of the Control Panel features are already present in the Nvidia App, but soon users will also benefit from the integration of legacy 3D settings, like global toggles for anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing and ambient occlusion, features that are primarily useful for improving the visual fidelity of classic games. The Nvidia App is also adding a Global DLSS Override option, so you can switch on Frame Generation or DLSS Super Resolution globally, rather than needing to set the override for each individual game.
On top of all of this, Nvidia has also announced the latest RTX game bundle. Those buying an RTX 50 series graphics card, or an RTX 50 powered pre-built PC or gaming laptop, will get a free copy of Borderlands 4 with their purchase.
