CD Projekt has announced plans to update its corporate name, bringing the parent company’s branding in line with its game development studios. For years, CD Projekt has operated as the umbrella organisation overseeing CD Projekt Red, but the company now intends to adopt the same branding at the corporate level.
As reported by VGC and confirmed through regulatory filings spotted by Bankier.pl, the change is intended to “ensure consistency” across the company’s public‑facing brands. CD Projekt Red has long been the more recognisable name globally thanks to the success of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, while CD Projekt has primarily existed as the formal parent entity.
The update will not affect the structure of the company’s development teams or GOG, which will continue operating with no changes to branding. The change is expected to be formalised following shareholder approval.
CD Projekt has a big year ahead, with Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 set to come out, which should bring another boost in sales for Cyberpunk 2077. On top of that, the company has a new expansion for The Witcher 3, giving us all something to play while we wait on The Witcher 4 to be finished.
