Asus ROG has today unveiled the ROG Strix Helios II, a new mid-tower chassis that serves as the successor to the original, highly popular Helios case. Available in both black and white, the Helios II is packed with premium materials, impressive cooling potential, and a host of features designed to make the building process as smooth as possible for high-end rigs.
Aesthetically, the Helios II features a diamond-grille aluminium front panel that balances a bold gaming look with high airflow. The case is constructed with an aluminium frame and a tempered glass side panel to showcase your components. Out of the box, cooling is handled by four pre-installed 140 mm fans that are a beefy 28 mm thick, which should allow them to move a good amount of air at lower RPMs. For those looking to go the liquid cooling route, the Helios II offers extensive support, with room for two 360mm radiators simultaneously in the front and top of the case. An integrated hub provides control for up to six PWM fans and six ARGB components.
Asus has designed this case with the DIY builder in mind, boasting enough room for massive EATX motherboards and the largest graphics cards on the market, with clearance for GPUs up to 450 mm long. The build process is simplified with a one-key release for the side panel, a tool-free PCIe attachment system, a removable PSU bracket, and a generous 33 mm of space behind the motherboard tray for cable management. The front I/O is also getting a major upgrade. It now features four USB-A 3.0 ports alongside two 20 Gbps USB-C ports. One of these USB-C ports is capable of delivering up to 60W of power.
