Intel seemingly targets Q1 2026 launch for Panther Lake CPUs

Intel has provided a glimpse into its future product roadmap during a recent event in China, revealing details about its upcoming Core Ultra processors. Notably, the company announced that the Panther Lake series is slated for a Q1 2026 launch.

While Intel previously indicated a launch closer to late 2025, meng (via VideoCardz) explains that the Q1 2026 timeframe represents the volume launch. An Early Enablement Program (EEP) is expected to start in October, providing partners with early access to the platform. Mass production of these chips is expected to commence as soon as September.

Industry sources suggest that the Core Ultra 300 series launch will mirror the approach taken with Lunar Lake, which saw a surge in product announcements at CES 2025 despite its official launch a few months before. As such, we can expect Panther Lake's official announcement in the latter half of 2025 alongside the first devices using it. More devices sporting the upcoming CPUs will likely be announced at CES 2026.

Unlike Lunar Lake, which was primarily used on light laptops and gaming handhelds, the Intel 18A-based Panther Lake will have a broader application, including the same as Lunar Lake as well as gaming, mainstream, and workstation laptops.

KitGuru says: How much better will Panther Lake perform compared to Lunar Lake in terms of CPU, GPU, and AI performance?
