AMD Strix Point APU reportedly scores 30% higher than Hawk Point on Time Spy

Recent rumours suggest that AMD's upcoming Strix Point APUs, equipped with the RDNA 3+ iGPU, will perform similarly to entry-level discrete GPUs like the RX 6400 and the RTX 2050/3050, depending on the CU count.

The Strix Point APUs are expected to be a complete revamp, featuring entirely new core IPs on all fronts. The Strix Point APUs are expected to feature Zen 4 CPU cores, along with RDNA 3+ graphics. The NPU will also be upgraded to the latest XDNA 2 “Ryzen AI” architecture.

As reported by Wccftech, insider XenoAssassin claims the RDNA 3+ iGPUs included in the Strix Point APUs will provide performance comparable to entry-level discrete GPU options. The 12 Compute Unit setup scores around 3150 points (graphics score) in 3DMark Time Spy with a limited TDP of 22-24W, which is 30% higher than the Radeon 780M iGPU of the Hawk Point APUs at the same power.

The complete configuration (16 CU) at 22W is expected to score close to 4000 points on the same test, putting it above the 50W RTX 2050 (3700 points). With more power being fed to the chip, it could get very close to an RTX 3050 (50W), which scores around 4800 points in this test. AMD Strix Point APUs are expected to be released in the second half of 2024.
