Ubisoft's venture into the Star Wars universe has been eagerly anticipated since the announcement of “Star Wars Outlaws,” set between the pivotal events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Initially speculated for an earlier 2024 launch, Disney's official update contradicts prior rumours.
In a recent Disney Parks blog post, confirmation surfaced that Ubisoft Massive's foray into the Star Wars universe will arrive a little later than anticipated. The game is apparently set for release “late this year”, while previous rumours claimed the game could be releasing as early as Q1 of this year. Now, an early 2024 release date seems unrealistic. Of course, there are some benefits to releasing later in the year, such as eating up holiday season sales.
In Star Wars Outlaws, players will step into the shoes of Kay Vess, an up-and-coming scoundrel on a quest for freedom and the chance to forge a new life. In classic Star Wars fashion, the main character will be joined by a small crew as you begin hopping between planets. Ubisoft has already hinted at varied means of transportation, potentially including land speeders and spaceship travel.
We expect to hear more about Star Wars Outlaws in the months ahead as Ubisoft ramps up its marketing efforts.
