Lian Li has recently launched the Uni Fan TL LCD and Uni Fan TL, a new range of fans that can interlock with each other. The former comes with a 1.6″ LCD that can be customised to display GIFs, images, or system stats. The Uni Fan TL, on the other hand, looks more standard, featuring LCP blades and an FDB bearing with copper shielding.
The Uni Fan TL LCD has a 1.6″ LCD IPS panel in the fan's centre. The screen has a resolution of 400 × 400 and can display system information such as CPU temperature, CPU load, GPU temperature, GPU load, and fan speed. Users can customise the screen by displaying GIFs or still images and synchronise multiple fans using the L-Connect software. The Uni Fan TL LCD controller can handle up to seven fans simultaneously, with each port supporting up to three Uni Fan TL LCD fans. Users can mix and match groups of TL and TL LCD fans to achieve a balanced mixture of performance and aesthetic customisation.
The Uni Fan TL features a 9-blade arrangement made of liquid crystal polymer, which ensures the blades keep their form even at high speeds. The fan blades are closer to the fan frame in this design, with a space measuring 0.65mm for the TL 120 and 1.0mm for the TL 140. With an overall frame thickness of 28mm, this design increases the blade surface area for enhanced performance. Furthermore, the fan motor on the Uni Fan TL is equipped with fluid dynamic bearings for a quieter and smoother operation.
The Uni Fan TL and TL LCD include enormous infinity mirrors on both frame sides and a diffused RGB strip along the borders of the anti-vibration pads. This lighting approach produces a continuous impression in linked clusters. The top and bottom LEDs are separated into two zones that can be controlled separately via L-Connect.
Users can build fan clusters powered by a single cable using the interlocking mechanism from the original Uni Fans (up to ten TL or up to three TL LCD fans per port). An IC embedded into each fan allows the L-Connect to instantly recognise each fan, size, and placement within each group. These fans are available in black and white, in 120mm and 140mm models, and in conventional and reverse airflow configurations. All models are now available for pre-order.
KitGuru says: Looking for a new set of fans for your system? If you're looking for something unique in terms of aesthetics, Lian Li's new TL LCD fans could be perfect.
