Asus recently announced the release of a new BIOS for AM5-based motherboards featuring the AGESA 1.1.0.1 microcode. The beta BIOS has been issued to 19 boards based on X670 and B650 chipsets. Although this is a minor update, it's necessary if you're planning to pair these motherboards with one of the upcoming AMD Ryzen 8000G APUs.
Earlier this month, AMD announced its Ryzen 8040 series for laptops based on the Hawk Point/Phoenix Point architecture. However, AMD has not yet announced its Zen 4/RDNA 3 desktop APU portfolio, which includes the Ryzen 8700G, 8600G, 8500G, and 8300G chips. These processors are expected to hit the market next year, with an official announcement likely happening in early 2024.
To accommodate the upcoming APUs, some motherboard manufacturers have rolled out an AGESA 1.1.0.0 beta BIOS with compatibility for the Ryzen 8000G series in early November. Fast-forwarding one month, Asus (via Wccftech) is launching a new BIOS with the updated AGESA 1.1.0.1 to 19 motherboards:
