We've been impressed by plenty of be quiet! cases in recent years and the company aims to keep that trend going with its new Dark Base 701 chassis. The new case features a complete mesh top and front, along with three Silent Wings 4 fans to keep your PC running cool and quiet.
The Dark Base 701 is the successor to the Dark Base 700, with a new approach. While the previous model was designed for silent operation, the Dark Base 701 prioritises airflow, featuring perforated mesh panels suitable for case fans or water cooling. It's equipped with three pre-installed Silent Wings 4 140mm PWM fans, which can reach a maximum speed of 1900 RPM. There's also space for up to five extra 120mm or 140mm fans, making it easy to meet the cooling needs of high-end systems.
This case is user-friendly, regardless of your level of expertise. The installation of HDDs and SSDs is tool-free, and fans and radiators (up to 360mm) can be mounted on a removable front frame or a top frame that can be pulled out. The motherboard tray can be removed for assembly outside the case and flipped 180° if you prefer a different layout. Three extra vertical slots are accessible with an optional riser cable for vertical GPU installation.
RGB enthusiasts will be pleased to know that there are two ARGB LED strips that run along the front panel and are linked to a hub (fan and ARGB) that supports up to 8 PWM fans and two extra ARGB devices. The front I/O has dedicated ARGB and fan controller buttons, one USB-C port, two USB-A ports, and audio input and output. Cable routing channels keep the case's interior clean, and a tempered glass side window provides an excellent view of the PC components.
The Dark Base 701 will be available in black on November 14th for $229.90/€229.00/£229.99. An optional drive cage and a riser cable for vertical GPU installation can be bought for €9.90/$9.90/£9.99 and €59.90/$54.90/£59.99, respectively. A white variant of the Dark Base 701 will be released next year.
