Sony has been going all-out when it comes to releasing accessories for the PlayStation 5. Alongside the likes of the DualSense Edge; Pulse Headset; PS5 Faceplates and more, the console manufacturer is releasing a dedicated remote play handheld in the form of PlayStation Portal. That is not all however, as Sony has now officially detailed a number of upcoming audio accessories – the PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds and Pulse Elite wireless headset.
Making the announcement on the PlayStation blog, Hideaki Nishino – the senior Vice President for Platform Experience at SIE said “In May, we gave a quick peek at our dedicated PS5 remote play device – now called PlayStation Portal remote player, and our first wireless earbuds, called Pulse Explore. Today we’re pleased to share more details about these products and reveal a new PlayStation over-the-ear wireless headset, Pulse Elite.”
We have already covered the PlayStation Portal handheld HERE, but in discussing the audio accessories, Nishino stated “Both Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore deliver low latency lossless audio from PS5 and PlayStation Portal using our new PlayStation Link wireless technology.”
The Pulse Elite Wireless Headset will cost £129.99 and is said to feature “lossless audio and comes with a retractable boom mic and AI-enhanced noise rejection capable of filtering background sounds. A charging hanger is also included with the product for a convenient charging and storage option,” alongside ”custom-designed planar magnetic drivers for an audiophile-level listening experience.”
The Pulse Explore Earbuds meanwhile will cost £199.99 and provides “a premium portable audio experience with dual microphones and AI-enhanced noise rejection capable of filtering background sounds. It also offers lossless audio and comes with a charging case.”
Both devices are powered by Sony’s new PlayStation Link technology, which is said to allow for “low latency, lossless audio and easy switching between multiple PlayStation Link hosts such as PS5 with the USB adapter and PlayStation Portal”. The full details on how this wireless technology functions can be found HERE.
