PowerColor reveals early Red Devil Radeon RX 7800 XT listing

PowerColor has stirred up quite a storm by pulling back the curtain on their Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card ahead of AMD's official announcement. Besides showing the design of the upcoming Red Devil model, it also confirmed the specifications of AMD's new gaming GPU.

As per the spec sheet on the product page (only accessible via WaybackMachine), the RX 7800 XT Red Devil graphics card will be based on the RDNA3 GPU architecture, featuring 3840 stream processors (Navi 32?). That's about the same SM count as the previous-gen Radeon RX 6800. Moreover, the sheet states the card has a 2255MHz gaming clock and a 2565MHz boost clock, surpassing AMD’s reported reference clock speeds of 2210MHz and 2520MHz, respectively.

As we've come to expect, the Radeon RX 7800 XT comes with 16GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus, matching the configuration of the Radeon RX 6800 series. However, the new GPU uses slightly faster memory modules, allowing the 16GB of memory to run at 18Gbps.

Moving on to this model's specific features, PowerColor recommends an 800W power supply and the utilisation of two 8-pin power connectors to ensure optimal performance for this card. This model also comes with a triple-fan cooling solution, complemented by a cluster of eight heatpipes. A copper plate establishes direct contact with the GPU, enveloping the VRAM and dissipating the heat generated. A high-quality PCB, an 11+3+1+2+1 phase VRM design, and DrMOS featuring IMON real-time digital monitoring to ensure the card's stability during operation.

KitGuru says: AMD has confirmed plans to launch new GPUs this quarter and now with this leak, it looks like we can indeed expect to see RX 7800 series graphics cards very soon, perhaps with a launch at Gamescom this month.
