Intel Arc A580 appears on Geekbench 5 performing similarly to a Radeon RX 7600

Nearly a year ago, Intel made headlines with the introduction of the Arc A580 GPU, a promising mid-series desktop gaming card. However, it seems that the company has somewhat neglected it. In the meantime, the Alchemist lineup has been divided into the A7 and A3 series, while the A5 series has been put on hold.

Recently, Intel unveiled the mobile Arc A570M and A530M graphics, both powered by the new ACM-G12 GPU. The desktop Arc A580 comes equipped with 8GB GDDR6 memory and boasts a memory bandwidth comparable to that of the Arc A7 desktop GPUs.

As for clock speeds, recent findings on Geekbench (via @Benchleaks) reveal it has reached a remarkable 2400MHz. Furthermore, it has a 175W TDP, 50W less than both Arc A7 series GPUs.

The system equipped with the Arc A580 was paired with an Intel Z690 motherboard featuring a Core i7-12700 CPU. This setup might be part of a prebuilt system, which seems to align with Intel's focus for their latest GPU releases. In terms of performance, the GPU scored an impressive 82992 points in the OpenCL test, matching the Radeon RX 7600 average (82981 points).

It's worth noting that the Arc A580 GPU hasn't received an official launch or even found a place on Intel's website yet. However, the benchmark results suggest that Intel is gearing up to fulfil its promise from last year to launch five gaming desktop GPUs.

KitGuru says: One year after its announcement, the Intel Arc A580 appears to be finally stepping into the spotlight. Unfortunately, that might be too late, since both Nvidia and AMD have already launched their new-gen mid-range graphics cards. To stand a chance, Intel will have to place the A580 carefully in terms of pricing.
