Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest and upcoming title in the stealth-action series, taking players back to the roots of the franchise with an emphasis on smaller worlds and more stealthy gameplay. Unfortunately, it seems as though the game will still feature some of its more modern influences – namely with the inclusion of microtransactions.
As reported by known AC Mirage leaker ‘j0hnathan’ Assassin’s Creed Mirage will include microtransactions of some kind. While the screenshot released by the leaker has since been taken down, the picture featured details on a supposed ‘Fire Demon Pack’ which will include a set of armour for protagonist Basim, a mask for the mounts and a flaming sword.
Previous leaks claimed that there were no plans for any microtransactions in Mirage and so the reveal that this is not the case is somewhat disappointing. That said, it does not come as a surprise, especially as pretty much every Ubisoft-published game in the past decade or so has featured some form of microtransactions.
All that said, it would have been a pretty major boon for both Ubisoft and AC Mirage if the game had not featured any microtransactions. Hopefully the rest of the game at least ends up being good. We will have to wait and see,
KitGuru says: Are you surprised by the microtransactions? Have you ever paid for Ubisoft Helix Credits? Is this a bad sign for the game? Let us know down below.
