Microsoft is continuing its acquisition spree. This time, the tech giant has bolstered its cybersecurity offerings by acquiring RiskIQ in a deal said to be worth more than $500 million.
According to Bloomberg, the acquisition will see Microsoft paying more than $500 million, although the company has not yet revealed the deal’s value publicly. In return for all that cash, Microsoft will be getting RiskIQ, a cloud-based software that detects security issues across networks and devices.
As pointed out by The Verge, RiskIQ is in use by several major companies, including the likes of Facebook, American Express, BMW and others.
RiskIQ has been around since 2009 and has become an important part of the security analysis industry. Microsoft hasn’t announced specific plans for the company yet, but we’ll likely see the software integrated across major cloud products and services, like Azure, Microsoft 365 and others.
