With the one year anniversary of Ghost of Tsushima coming up, Sony has announced a new Director’s Cut for the game. This re-release, coming to PS4 and PS5, will include new upgrades to the game, as well as a brand new expansion.
The expansion leaked late last month, revealing that Iki Island will be added as a new location in the game. Iki Island is a smaller, neighbouring island to Tsushima and was similarly invaded by the Mongols. On this new island, players will take on the role of Jin once again, embarking on a smaller journey with “deeply personal stakes” that will involve “traumatic moments” from Jin’s past.
Aside from the new expansion content, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will finally fix Japanese lip sync on PS5. The game will also have support for DualSense controllers, 3D audio enhancements, load time improvements and new graphics options, enabling 4K/60FPS gameplay.
A save transfer feature is in place for those who already played the game on PS4 and want to play through the new content on PS5. Those who already own the game on PS4 can purchase the Directors Cut upgrade for $20. Meanwhile, those who own the Director’s Cut on PS4 can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10. The standard PS5 version of the game will sell for $30. The new version of the game launches on the 20th of August.
KitGuru Says: I finished Ghost of Tsushima earlier this year, but I’m very tempted to jump back in for this expansion. Did any of you play Ghost of Tsushima already? Are you thinking about upgrading to the new Director’s Cut?
