This month, leaks for AMD’s upcoming RX 6600 series graphics cards began to surface and since then, the stream of new information has not stopped. In the latest leak, we get some new information about the GPU die size, memory configurations, PCIe interface and clock speeds.
According to Igor’sLAB, the Navi 23 GPU featured in the RX 6600 series cards will come in a 35x35mm package and have a die size of 235.76mm². The report also tells us there will be three mobile variants with different TGPs: 65W, 80W, and 90W. Also related to the RX6600M series GPUs, these cards will come with a boost clock of 2350MHz at 90W, so expect a bit more for the desktop cards (about 2600-2700MHz?). The Navi 23 chips reportedly support most modern APIs, including DirectX12 feature level 12_1, Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 2.2, and probably AMD Liquid VR.
The RX 6600 graphics card should use an x8 PCIe 4.0 interface and come equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. However, the Navi 23 GPU can support up to 16GB of VRAM if 2GB modules are used. The next step down will be the RX 6500, which is said to come paired with 4GB of GDDR6 memory.
Aimed at delivering similar performance to that of the Radeon RX 5700 series, the RX 6600 series cards will be this generation’s mainstream graphics cards from AMD for both desktops and laptops. These cards should feature the Navi 23 GPU, 64MB of Infinity Cache, and 8GB of GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit memory bus.
KitGuru says: Given all the details we’ve already shared about the Radeon RX 6600 series cards, what performance do you expect from these SKUs compared to Nvidia’s line-up?
